Preparation

Surfaces to be waterproofed must be sound, smooth and free from dust, loose matter, oil, grease or other contaminants.

All surface defects shall be repaired using Chemind Chembond modified mortar.

Use Chemind Chemflex LM PU sealant to fill joints, cracks, gaps and form angle fillets to internal corners or penetrations.

Application

Priming

For internal wet areas, tiled decks, walls, sills or flashings, using:

For all exposed decks, car park slabs, pits, pools and water features, apply one coat of Chemind Epocote F100W Clear water based epoxy sealer, at 5 – 6m²/litre.

Detailing

Detail all joints, cracks, outlets, penetrations and internal corners with a 150mm strip of Chemind Fibreglass Reinforcing Mat bedded between two heavy coats of Aquagard and centred over the joint.

Application of Continuous Membrane

Apply Aquagard membrane liberally by brush, squeegee, roller or spray in two or more coats to desired uniform membrane thickness. Allow to dry fully between coats.

Surfacing

Aquagard membrane may be subjected to foot traffic 8 hours after installation. Use the following surfacing systems for specific situations listed. Such surfacing materials shall be installed only after the Aquagard membrane system has fully cured.

Aquagard "M" should be sealed with Chemind Epocote F100W before waterbased exterior paints are applied.
