Bitustik Tape

Description

Grace Bitustik™ Tape is a double-sided tape with a special, highly aggressive adhesive. It is supplied in convenient rolls with a protective release sheet intertwined.

Uses

Designed to bond Chemind Rapid Drain or Protectoboard to Grace Bituthene^® sheet membranes or Chemind Waterproofing Systems.

Features

Economical in labour and materials.

Simple self-adhesive fixing – no props, nails, pins, etc.

For horizontal and vertical surfaces.

Immediate bonding to substrate.

Apply at temps. between 45°C & -4°C.

Not affected by high temperatures.

Backfill and landscape may be installed immediately.

Use on all membrane, protection or drainage systems, and Dow Roofmate™ insulation board used for IRMA roofing.

Application

Membrane surface should be clean, dry & free of all dust and contaminates.

Unroll tape and adhere exposed surface to Grace Bituthene^® or Chemind membrane. Leave release sheet on the tape until just before applying the drainage composite. Bitustik™ Tape and its release sheet may be cut with a utility knife or easily torn by hand. Peel release sheet and apply drainage composite. Press Rapid Drain composite firmly to assure good contact.

Protective Systems

Chemind Rapid Drain drainage composite

On walls - if Rapid Drain is placed horizontally, use continuous strip of Bitustik™ Tape at top and bottom. If drainage composite is applied vertically in 1.8 to 2.4 m lengths, use strip of tape at the top, another in middle and a third strip near the bottom.

On decks - a strip of tape is recommended at approximately 3m intervals, or more frequently in the event of high wind.

For deck applications, tape may be applied to back of drainage composite rather than to the membrane, if it is more convenient.

Chemind Protectoboard protection sheet

On walls - apply small strip of tape near corners and centre of board. Place Protectoboard onto membrane surface and press firmly over tape areas to assure a good bond.

On decks – In high wind conditions it may be necessary to use additional or larger pieces of Bitustik™ Tape.

Chemind Dow Roofmate™

Bitustik™ Tape may be used to secure Dow Roofmate™ insulation over Chemind or Grace roof membranes systems, prior to the installation of ballast or topping. Apply as for Chemind Protectoboard

Packing

Grace Bitustik™ Tape is supplied in rolls 25mm wide and 60m long and packed in cartons of 6 rolls each.
