Preparation
Surfaces to be waterproofed must be sound, smooth and free from dust, loose matter, oil, grease or other contaminants.
All surface defects shall be repaired using Chemind Chembond modified mortar.
Use Chemind Chemflex LM polyurethane sealant to fill joints, cracks, gaps and form fillets at internal corners or penetrations.
Application
Detailing
Seal all internal corners, joints, cracks, gaps, outlets and penetrations with 150mm wide cut strip of Chemind Fibreglass Reinforcing Mat, embedded carefully between two heavy coats of Blockflex and centred over the joint or centred equally to secure penetration.
Allow such reinforced detailed areas to fully cure before proceeding with subsequent coats.
Application of Continuous Membrane
Apply Blockflex membrane by brush, roller or spray in two or more coats to give the desired continuous membrane coating thickness.
When applying by roller, laying off final coat uniformly in one direction and making all side overlaps before surface of coating begins to set can achieve optimum finish of Blockflex.
Allow to dry fully between coats.
NOTE:
Dark colours may not be available in Blockflex. Where dark accent or feature colours are required, premium quality exterior grade acrylic paints may be used directly over Blockflex.
Colours
Blockflex may be factory coloured to project requirements in batch quantities. It may be coloured on-site to achieve many medium range colours using water-based tinters.
Coverage
Total consumption for Blockflex decorative membrane is approx. 0.3-0.5 litres/m2. For heavy textures, usage rate may be a high as 1 litre/m2.
Packaging
Blockflex is packed in 15 litre plastic pails.
Shelf Life
Unopened or resealed pails of Blockflex will have a shelf life of 2 years from date of manufacture if stored in a dry, cool place.
Clean-up
Remove uncured Blockflex with water. Chemind GP Solvent may assist with the removal of cured product. Exercise care when using solvents. Please review all MSDS before use.
