Description
Chem-Fix Acoustiflex is a premium quality, durable, one-part moisture curing, high solids polyurethane based adhesive. It has a strong permanent bond to most surfaces and remains flexible for its life. Acoustiflex has excellent sound deadening properties and will contribute greatly to the overall acoustic properties of the flooring system.
It is formulated for use on floor areas subject to impact or movement and conforms to Australian Standards AS 3958.1-1991 and AS 3958.2-1992.
Uses
Chemind Chem-Fix Acoustiflex adhesive is specifically designed to bond timber and parquetry to Chemind Sound-Shield Mat or structural sub-floors. It also provides secure adhesion between Chemind Sound-Shield Mat and base substrates such as concrete, timber, FC, CFC, plasterboard, cement render, floor screed and Chemind Aquagard M wet area membrane.
Chemind Chem-Fix Acoustiflex adhesive is used to fill voids in Chemind Sound-Shield acoustic underlay joints, walls, penetrations or fittings. It is suitable for both internal and external areas of residential or commercial construction.
Note
Chemind Chem-Fix Acoustiflex may be used for a variety of highly specialised applications where specific characteristics or physical attributes are required.
Any such needs should be first verified by Chemind Construction Products Technical Department to ensure that all specification requirements are met fully.
Features
The rubberised structure resists vibration and differential substrate movement, assists in reducing noise transmission and prevents de-bonding of tiles caused by tile growth or impact.
Chem-Fix Acoustiflex provides added benefits in facilitating the protective function of the acoustic underlay system. It is fully waterproof, low odour, multi-purpose and extremely flexible.

Preparation
Surfaces must be sound, dry and free from dust, loose matter, oil, grease or other contaminants. Other considerations:
Application
Rigid Flooring
Sound-Shield System
Refer to Chemind Sound-Shield data sheet or other Chemind product data for specific information or design requirements.
Coverage
Usage will vary with specific application and sound deadening requirement.
Application rate will increase on porous surfaces or Chemind Sound-Shield acoustic underlay or with size of notched trowel and type of rigid flooring to be installed.
Consumption by trowel over a smooth, hard surface is approximately 1 - 2 m2/litre.
Usage rate on porous or irregular surfaces may range between 1 - 2 litres/m2.
Packaging
Chemind Chem-Fix Acoustiflex is packed in 15 litre metal pails.
Shelf Life
Unopened pails of Chemind Chem-Fix Acoustiflex will have a shelf life of 6 months from date of manufacture, when stored in a cool, dry place.
