Description
A general purpose, single-pack, bitumen modified liquid synthetic rubber membrane, specifically developed for multi-purpose waterproofing use in construction.
Uses
Hydroflex is used as a general-purpose membrane on basement and retaining walls, sill and window flashings, planter boxes, wet areas and landscaped areas.
It is used on beam edges, as a general purpose damp proofing sealant, a vapour barrier to precast and tilt-up concrete panels, a protective barrier coating to key joints and dowel bars.
Hydroflex is also used to detail perimeters, penetrations and provide over flashing to Grace Bituthene® self-adhesive sheet membranes.

Preparation
Surfaces to be sound clean, free from dust, loose matter, oil, grease or contaminants.
Seal penetrations or outlets, fill joints, cracks or gaps and form fillets to internal corners with paintable acrylic sealant.
Hydroflex may be applied to damp surfaces and uncured concrete, but there must be no free water present. Do not apply when rain is expected.
Application
Priming
Seal dusty or porous surfaces with Hydroflex diluted with equal parts of clean water.
Detailing
Detail all internal corners, joints, cracks,
outlets and penetrations with strip Chemind Reinforcing Fabric. The fabric should be bedded between heavy coats of Hydroflex and centred over the joint. Allow to dry completely before continuing.
Application of Continuous Membrane
Apply first full coat of Hydroflex membrane and work it into the surface to fill pores and hair cracks. Subsequent coats should be applied in a cross direction to the previous and not brushed out.
Hydroflex may be applied by brush, broom, roller or spray. Equipment should be cleaned with water regularly to reduce clogging. Two or three coats will be required to achieve a uniform and effective waterproof barrier.
Allow to dry fully between coats.
Note
Surfacing
Hydroflex membrane is UV resistant but should be covered within 7 days of installation. Protect Hydroflex installed on horizontal surfaces from site damage using Chemind Protectoboard. Use the following surfacing or protective systems for specific situations as listed.
Apply surfacing materials only to fully cured Hydroflex.
Coverage
Coverage will vary according to surface texture and porosity. Minimum total usage rate will be 1 litre/m2.
Packaging
Hydroflex is packed in 15 litre pails and 200 litre drums.
Shelf Life
Unopened or resealed pails of Hydroflex has a shelf life of 2 years, when stored in a dry, cool place.
Clean-up
Remove uncured Hydroflex from equipment with water. Mineral turpentine is used to remove any cured product. Exercise care when using solvents. Please review all MSDS before use.
