Sound-Shield System

Description

A low build sound deadening system giving efficient acoustic insulation to rigid ceramic, stone, marble, parquetry and timber laid on suspended reinforced concrete, precast panel, CFC and timber floors.

Chemind Sound-Shield is designed to comply with the requirements of BCA Part F5 "Sound Transmission & Insulation, Class 2 or 3 buildings – Floors".

The Chemind Sound-Shield system may be combined with Chemind Aquagard wet area membrane or Chemind Newflex wet area, balcony and roofing membrane to provide noise reduction on surfaces required to be waterproof.

Uses

Chemind Sound-Shield isolates sound transmission from impact or foot traffic on ceramic tiles, terracotta or stone paving, timber and parquetry when laid over suspended floors.

Typical areas of application are in residential structures, high-rise apartments, hospitals, nursing homes, offices and commercial buildings.

Sound-Shield mat is used for isolation barrier under battens or bearers to timber flooring, isolation of bottom plate in wall construction, sports and floating floors

Features

Sound-Shield noise reduction underlay meets all needs of the specifier for acoustic insulation.
